Islamabad :- PTI Senator Dost muhammad mehsud has expressed his anger and resentment over the refusal of the Shabaz led Federal government to release an amount of Pkr 17 bn out of the proposed Pkr 57 bn as a Special Grant allocated by Ex Priemer Imran Khan for the development and main_ streaming of Ex-Fata.
The stoppage of the said amount has greatly undermined the efforts of the Kpk Government to initiate varied socio _economic development projects in the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs), with the prime view to mitigate the Tribesmen woes which are reeling from the devastating effects of the menace of militancy and disorder which resulted in the complete uprooting of the population and irreparable losses to the local infrastructures, which eventually pushed them down the poverty ladder_Undermining their very existence especially in the face of the ongoing devastating inflationary trends.
He lamented the fact that the Contractors have stopped work on all the ongoing projects due to the unavailability of the Promised funds from the Federal government.
It is pertinent to mention that Imran Khan led government had promised 3 Percent Share for Fata from the NFC for 10 Years(Rs: 100 bn per year), Retention of Separeate Quota for Fata for 25 years. All these steps were aimed at streamlining Ex Fata to ensure smooth transition to Kpk.
He has taken strong exception to the scenario arising out of the Federal government Step motherly treatment with the tribesmen by refusing to release the promised amount. He warned the Federal government that if the amount was not released immediately, then he would be forced to call a Grand Jirga of the whole Fata to deliberate upon the situation arising out of the Federal government refusal to release the said funds.
He warned that the tribesmen are anxiously witnessing the blatant violations of the promises and pledges by the new Federal government, which might impel them to a launch a movement for undoing the Ex Fata status_ a scenario immersed with potential Strategic, political and ideological pitfalls of grave consequences.
