On Friday, the Islamabad High Court granted protective bail to Imran Khan, the Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, until May 3 in a mutiny case registered against him at Ramna police station in the capital.
The court approved Imran’s bail against the submission of surety bonds worth Rs100,000, and the hearing was conducted by IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq. Imran had filed a plea earlier in the day seeking protective bail in the case, and the registrar’s office had raised objections to the plea, including the lack of biometric verification, which was later addressed and resolved by the PTI legal team. On April 14, the Lahore High Court granted the former Prime Minister protective bail in the same case until April 26.
