Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce rejected the reports of official trade between Pakistan and Israel.
A press note issued by Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce said there was no possibility of bilateral trade between Israel and Pakistan.
“The rumours about begining of Pakistan-Israel trade is sheer propaganda after the Press Release of American Jewish Congress which was misrepresented,” a press note issued by Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce stated on Sunday.
“Even in their press release they nowhere mentioned about official trade between Pak-Israel,” press note added
A spokesperson of Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce said neither Pakistan has any trade relations with Israel nor does it intend to develop any.
” A Jewish Pakistani Fishel Benkhald has sent food samples to three businessmen in Jerusalem & Haifa through UAE in personal capacity who he met in foreign countries during food exhibitions. Nevertheless, it was not supported by Pakistan Government and no banking or official channel was involved either,” spokesperson added.
” Moreover, in our talks with UAE, the issue of origin will be strictly implemented. UAE has curtailed tarrifs on 96% goods traded with Israel which has benefited traders from UAE to Israel,” he added.
According to American media quoted an association of American Jews on Thursday hailing what it said was the first shipment from Pakistan of food products offloaded in Israel.
Media reports suggested that the transaction this week involved Pakistani-Jewish businessman Fishel BenKhald and three Israeli businesspeople, the American Jewish Congress said in a statement from its New York headquarters.
Ccording to reports , BenKhald lives in Karachi, the largest city in the Muslim-majority nation, where he runs a Jewish kosher certification business for food manufacturers exporting products to destinations worldwide. He disclosed the rare bilateral trade via Twitter on Tuesday.
