In a shocking move, the Islamabad Capital Territory police has said it was unable to give security to News Zealand Cricket Team which is expected to arrive Pakistan soon to play series with Pakistan.
Police authorities said it has not received the funds Police which Pakistan Cricket Board was supposed to provide to the ICT police to make fool-proof arrangement for security of New Zealand Cricket Team.
The New Zealand cricket team are scheduled to tour Pakistan in April and May 2023 to play five One Day International (ODI) matches and five Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The tour is to make up for the series that was postponed in September 2021 following security threats.
A spokesperson of Pakistan Cricket Board didn’t comment in the development.
