In a notable symposium titled “Reconciliation: A Path to a Peaceful Balochistan,” held at the Jamali auditorium, prominent figures expressed their views on the province’s future.
Senators Anwaar ul Haq Kakar and Sarfraz Bugti, along with Balochistan’s Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau, Provincial Minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, and Dr. Mir Sadaat, actively participated in the event. Over 100 representatives from civil society, political leaders, religious scholars, lawyers, and journalists also attended.
Gulzar Imam Shambay, a former commander of the Baloch National Army who has renounced militancy, graced the occasion, which aimed to highlight the policy of reconciliation in Balochistan and improve the province’s situation. The speakers emphasized that Balochistan’s issues could be resolved through peaceful dialogue.
The participation of Gulzar Imam Shambay was warmly regarded as a positive development by the attendees. They believed that peace is the key game-changer for Balochistan, and the ultimate goal of reconciliation is to create a better and prosperous province.
Furthermore, the participants applauded the state’s prioritization of dialogue, viewing it as a compassionate approach. They stressed that militants, upon surrendering to the state, should assume their role in promoting the progress and prosperity of Balochistan and its people.
Senator Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that dialogue and reconciliation are the sole paths to achieving peace in Balochistan. Senator Anwaar ul Haq Kakar asserted that no militant force could overcome the state, urging militants to consider the betterment of Balochistan in alignment with the state’s prioritization of dialogue.
During the event, Home Minister Balochistan Ziaullah Langau extended a government offer for dialogue to those willing to engage. Zahoor Ahmed Buledi highlighted the need for political parties and all stakeholders to fulfill their respective responsibilities.
Gulzar Imam Shambay called upon everyone to work within their capacities for the prosperity of Balochistan, expressing his endorsement and active involvement in the dialogue process.
