- Selected People in Pakistan are always appointed around the big seat holder which is hindering the performance of departments and disabling the system.
- Persons are appointed before the advertisement of the vacancy and then all drama is created to show the transparency in recruitment, damaging the confidence of eligible candidates.
- Choosing an incompetent person for wrongdoing creates a divide or mafia within society and increases joblessness or unemployment. Who is responsible for creating all this clutter, and who is to blame? How it will be fixed, it’s never too late
The people of Pakistan believe in placing the right person in the right job, rather than having one person for every job. However, the current system in Pakistan has led to the selection of individuals around influential figures, hindering departmental performance and disabling the system. People are appointed before vacancies are advertised, and transparency in recruitment is merely a facade. This damages the confidence of eligible candidates, leading to the selection of incompetent individuals, creating divides and mafias within society, and contributing to joblessness.
Charter Of Demands Ahead of General Elections In Pakistan – Citizen’s Magna Carta
The responsibility for this chaos lies with those who appoint individuals based on favoritism rather than merit. The system, established before Pakistan’s independence, has not evolved to align with the ideology of Quaid Azam M. Jinnah. This neglect has led to frustration, depression, and a dysfunctional system that fails to address the needs of the people. Political parties are often hijacked by those who favor incompetence to maintain a docile workforce.
Until 2023, the system collapsed, and the country faced disabling issues. Terrifying appointments occur across various sectors, from education and health to courts and government. Wealthy individuals secure positions by paying lump sums, and transparency is compromised. This damages the confidence of eligible candidates and students, with universities granting degrees without proper assessments. Incompetent individuals in influential positions further exacerbate issues. For instance, the Engineering Council appointed someone with conflicting interests, causing chaos in the engineering field, and leaving students jobless. The responsibility for this mess lies with those who appointed such individuals.
It is not too late to rectify these mistakes. The call is for competent individuals to be appointed to the right positions. A thorough review of the existing system, introduction of monitoring and screening mechanisms, and clear job descriptions are essential. In the era of digitalization, Pakistan must move away from outdated systems like the handwritten “Parchi” system. Every field needs structured reforms, published instructions, and transparent recruitment processes. Performance reviews, appraisals, and reporting systems should be implemented. Helplines should be established, especially in underdeveloped regions, to assist those facing issues.
The people of Pakistan urge those in power to address longstanding issues before introducing new services. The hope is for a sensible approach to foster growth in Pakistan. Ameen.
