Jaisal Klasra: Dr. Naeem Klasra (late) must be feeling proud of his nephew who is working hard to keep his legacy alive.
In memory of his beloved uncle Dr. Naeem Klasra, one of Pakistan’s eminent eye-surgeons, Dr. Mansoor Klasra arranged a week-long book fair in Layyah district which attracted thousands of people from all walks of life especially the youth.

In a district which had been notoriously famous for Dogfights which are illegal in Pakistan, and punishable by a maximum six-month sentence under animal cruelty laws, Mansoor, a Doctor of Philosophy, arranged book fair in memory of his beloved uncle which kicked off on February 14, this month. The book fair which concluded on Sunday February 21, 2021, inspiring many across the district.
Watching over his nephew, Dr. Naeem must be feeling proud in heaven as his legacy was being kept alive by his youngsters.
Speaking to ‘Telegraph’ over telephone from Basti Jaisal Klasra, Dr. Mansoor Klasra said he was not expecting such a huge response from public.
“Public’s response was overwhelming. I was not expecting such response. It was unprecedented,” Mansoor told Telegraph.
After earning PHD in economics, Mansoor had a number of lucrative job offers in Pakistan and abroad as well. However, gentleman preferred to stay in his native village where he runs a private school and looks after a family trust which owns a dispensary and library.
“Book reading has almost vanished in the days of technology. I had a dream to attract youth to book reading. A dream has come true finally. Public, especially the youngsters has shown unprecedented response in book fair,” Mansoor said.
