Islamabad High Court Grants Bail To Imran Khan in Mutiny Case

On Friday, the Islamabad High Court granted protective bail to Imran Khan, the Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, until May 3 in a mutiny case registered against him at Ramna police station in the capital.

The court approved Imran’s bail against the submission of surety bonds worth Rs100,000, and the hearing was conducted by IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq. Imran had filed a plea earlier in the day seeking protective bail in the case, and the registrar’s office had raised objections to the plea, including the lack of biometric verification, which was later addressed and resolved by the PTI legal team. On April 14, the Lahore High Court granted the former Prime Minister protective bail in the same case until April 26.

Imran Bows Before The Islamabad High Court Today Seeking Bail In Mutiny Case

Based on the information provided, it appears that there are several legal proceedings involving Imran, a former premier. On April 6, a magistrate filed a first information report (FIR) against Imran for “spreading hatred between the institutions and the public” and for “trying to cause unforgivable damage to the institutions and their top officers.” On April 10, Imran approached the Islamabad High Court to request that a mutiny case against him be quashed. His counsel raised an objection on the jurisdiction, as the incident had occurred in Lahore but an FIR was filed in Islamabad. Today, Imran reached the capital with his convoy in connection to a petition that his party filed on his behalf.
