Pakistan announces civilian award for Jack Ma

ISLAMABAD, Aug. 15 (Gwadar Pro) – President of Pakistan Mr. Arif Alvi, announced “Hilal-e-Qaid-e-Azam” award for Jack Ma, a Chinese, the co-founder and former executive chairman of Alibaba Group.

According to the National Disaster Management Authority, Jack Ma and its eponymous foundation had provided Pakistan with 50,000 testing kits and 500,000 face masks along with other medical equipment exclusively for patients of Covid-19.

It is worth mentioning that Chinese vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou also received Hilal-e-Qaid-e-Azam award last year.
Hilal-e-Qaid-e-Azam award is one of the Pakistan Civil Awards which were established on March 19, 1957, following the proclamation of Pakistan as an independent republic on March 23, 1956.

The announcement of civil awards is generally made once a year on Independence Day, August 14, and their investiture takes place on the following Pakistan Day, March 23.
