Unidentified people force their entry into Nawaz Sharif’s office in London

London: A gang of unidentified men tried to force their entry into office of Mian Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan’s three-time formwe Prime Ministwr former prime ministe in London.

The attempt to harass Pakistan’s most popular politician has been widely condemned across the globe while his party has dubbed the incident as cowardly and sinister.

“Strongly condemn [the] cowardly attempt to barge into the office of Hussain Nawaz where Mian Nawaz Sharif was also present. They seemed to be armed and clearly had a sinister design but thankfully, could not succeed. London police must investigate the incident from all angles,” Shahbaz Sharif, firmer Chief Mimister of Punjab tweeted following the incident.

Mian Nawaz Sharif is currently living in London to get treatment.

A spokesperaon of Nawaz Sharif’s political party confirmed the incident to ” Islamabad Telegraph ” and said the incident occurred on Thursday.

Nawaz Sharif’s family reported the incident to police which has started investigating the case.

Family source revealed that four men, three of whom were wearing hoodies and masks, forced their entry into the Sharif family office on the pretext that they had an appointment with Mr Sharif. When the staff told them there was no such appointment, the men “became aggressive and forcibly attempted to enter”.

The men left in a car after Mr Sharif’s security detail and workers of the party who were present at the office premises on Stanhope Place approached.

“They were not Pakistani, it appeared as if they had been paid by someone to harass Nawaz Sharif,” Dawn quoted a source in its report.

Condemning the incident, Maryam Nawaz on Twitter said the episode was akin to “criminality” and will “not silence Nawaz Sharif”.

No arrest was made until filing of this report.
