By Kashif Habeeb Pakistan is a country where the debt to GDP ratio is increasing every year. In fiscal budget 2021-22, 41% budget was used just for interest payments on loans that Pakistan has taken in previous years and the total budget deficit for the same fiscal year was RS3.5 trillion. By Our Staff Reporter Islamabad: Pakistan strongly reacted to an attempt made by the USA and arch rival India on Wednesday. “Pakistan categorically rejects the unwarranted reference in the Statement issued after the U.S.-India 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue on 11 April 2022,” Pakistan’s Foreign Office stated on wednesday. The gratuitous reference in the statement alluding to some non-existent and dismantled entities betrays misplaced counter-terrorism focus of both countries. It is unfortunate that a bilateral cooperation mechanism is being used to target a third country for political expediency and to mislead public opinion away from the real and emerging terrorism threats. The…

For far too long, successive governments have used this law as a tool to crush peaceful dissent and intimidate supporters of political opposition. “Nobody should be arrested merely for expressing their views — whether…

It is deeply concerning that the malicious trend of characterizing Muslims as ‘others’ or ‘20%’ by prominent BJP leaders which was continuing with appalling impunity is now also being translated into decisions by the judiciary. The discriminatory Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the grossly injudicious Indian Supreme Court judgment in the Babri mosque case are not distant memories.
