Peshawar: Unidentified rapists brought shame to Pakistan once again after raping and killing two-and-a-half-year-old girl Zainab in Peshawar.
Bone chilling story of rape and murder of baby girl identified as Zainab sent shocking waves across Pakistan where millions of people have already criticized the police for failing to arrest rapists of a woman on Highway last month.
Residents and police said the minor girl had gone missing earlier this week on Tuesday evening in Sheikh Kallay Qilla area of Peshawar while playing with other children outside her house.
On Wednesday, the Prang police got information about the body of a girl lying in Jabba Korona area. The Prang and Daudzai police recovered the body and shifted it to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar for postmortem.
Bone chilling murder of baby girl sparked protests in Peshawar. Hundreds of people took to roads and streets and protested against police and the government for failing to ensure law and order.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif, an eminent politician expressed her grief and blamed government for failing to ensure law and order.
“The nation was still reeling from the shock & distress caused by the unfortunate Motorway incident & whose culprits are still at large and another harrowing tragedy occurs. Sharam kero jaali hukamrano! ( shame on you fake rulers),” Maryam tweeted.
Later on Thursday , police claimed to arrest eight accused. However, authorities didn’t share more detail.
